Hence, the pulp gets rotten and eventually drain away during the fermentation state of the beans processing. As such, the first hurdle in our operation is to conscientise our cocoa farmers about the relevance of the pulp and its handling. This involves active engagement and training of cocoa farmers on hygienic handling and harvesting of the cocoa pulp juice.

The next complication is how to source commercial volumes of cocoa pulp juice from the small and spatially scattered cocoa farms characterized by poor road networks that limit accessibility.
